BLUE PLANET II
- Brand identity, naming, packaging design -
- Ongoing project -
Brief: create a brand identity that brings out the emotion and feeling of a musician’s style and promotes their music tour.
Solution: musical genius Hans Zimmer composed the luminous film score for BBC nature documentary Blue Planet II. Brand identity was designed for The Blue Planet Tour, a series of fictitious live orchestral performances of the soundtrack in the UK.

How does one translate music visually into lines, shapes, colours and typography?
How does one create music that captures the ocean and all its diversity, and do the same using graphical elements?
How can one use visuals and music to tell a compelling story so people care enough about our oceans to start protecting it?
These are questions I explore in this project.
Additional Brand Assets
This is an ongoing project. Additional pieces to be designed include vinyl packaging and a synaesthetic mobile app where users can listen to the Zimmer’s compositions.
The dramatic surges and calmer lulls in the music will be visualised as engaging motion graphics that highlight the complex design of the score. Varied sizes of line and shape will represent different instruments and changes in rhythm, dynamics and texture to heighten the emotional experience of the music.
